Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 27, 2026
Drift Studio LLC (“Drift,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a design studio based in Tempe, Arizona. We provide creative services through Drift Studio and sell physical products through Drift Goods.
We collect some personal information when you work with us, contact us, use our website, join our email list, apply for an opportunity, submit a form, or buy something from Drift Goods. This policy explains what we collect, why we need it, what we do with it, and the choices you have.
The short version: we collect the information we need to run Drift, work with our clients, fulfill orders, communicate with you, and keep the business functioning. We don't sell your personal information.
What we collect
What we collect depends on how you interact with Drift.
When you contact us or submit a form, we may collect your name, email address, phone number, company or organization, project details, files you upload, and anything else you choose to include in your submission.
That includes project inquiries, job or contractor applications, grievance submissions, event registrations, giveaways, and other forms we may offer.
Some forms may allow anonymous submissions. If a form says it can be submitted anonymously, you aren't required to identify yourself.
When you work with Drift, we may keep information necessary to manage our relationship and complete the work, including contact information, contracts, invoices, project communications, meeting notes, files you provide, account credentials you authorize us to use, and materials related to your project.
Because we're a design studio, client materials can include things like brand assets, website content, photographs, documents, design files, or access to services we're working with on your behalf.
When you shop with Drift Goods, we may receive your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping information, order details, and information about the products you purchase.
Payments are processed through our ecommerce and payment providers. We don't need or intend to store your full payment card information ourselves.
When you use our website, our website and commerce providers may automatically receive technical information such as your IP address, browser and device information, pages or products you view, interactions with the site, and cookies or similar technologies necessary to operate the website and store.
What we do with it
We use personal information to:
respond to messages and project inquiries;
provide design and creative services;
manage client projects, contracts, meetings, files, and billing;
process, fulfill, ship, and support Drift Goods orders;
handle returns, exchanges, and customer service;
review applications and submissions;
send emails you've asked to receive or agreed to receive;
maintain the security and operation of our website, store, accounts, and business systems;
prevent fraud, misuse, or security problems;
maintain records we reasonably need for accounting, tax, legal, contractual, and business purposes; and
comply with legal obligations.
We may also use aggregated or de-identified information to understand how Drift is performing. That information doesn't identify you personally.
Email and marketing
If you sign up for Drift emails, enter a promotion that includes an optional marketing signup, or otherwise agree to hear from us, we may send you emails about Drift Studio, Drift Goods, new work, products, events, or other updates.
Entering a giveaway, sending us a project inquiry, or buying something does not automatically mean you've agreed to receive marketing emails.
We use Flodesk to manage email subscriptions and send marketing emails. If you join one of our email lists, information such as your name, email address, subscription preferences, and interactions with our emails may be processed through Flodesk.
You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the email.
We may still send non-marketing messages when they're necessary—for example, information about an order you've placed, a project we're working on together, or a request you've submitted.
Who we share information with
We use third-party services to operate Drift. They receive information when it's reasonably necessary for the service they're providing.
Website and ecommerce providers. Our website is built with Framer, and Drift Goods uses Shopify for ecommerce. These services may process technical website information, customer information, order details, cookies, and other information needed to operate the website and store. Shopify generally treats merchants as controllers of customer information and itself as a processor when handling customer data on a merchant's behalf, subject to certain Shopify services. Shopify
Product and fulfillment providers. Some Drift Goods products are produced or fulfilled by third parties, including Tapstitch. When necessary to fulfill an order, they may receive information such as your name, shipping address, order details, and other information required to produce and deliver your purchase.
Forms, email, and communication tools. We use services including Tally, Google Workspace, and Flodesk to receive inquiries and submissions, communicate with you, and manage email subscriptions.
Client and business systems. We use secure third-party tools to manage projects, meetings, files, documents, passwords, and business records. Depending on your relationship with Drift, information may be stored or processed through services such as Google Drive, Dropbox, Motion, and 1Password.
Payment, banking, shipping, and other operational providers. Information necessary to complete a transaction or operate the business may be shared with payment processors, financial institutions, shipping carriers, professional advisers, or other service providers when appropriate.
We may also disclose information if we're legally required to do so, if it's necessary to protect Drift or another person's rights or safety, or as part of a merger, acquisition, sale, or other transfer of the business.
We do not sell your personal information.
Client files and credentials
Client work sometimes requires access to information that isn't normally collected by a website.
If you give Drift access to accounts, credentials, documents, files, or other materials so we can complete your project, we use that access for the work you've authorized us to perform.
We use password-management and access-control tools where appropriate rather than intentionally placing passwords in ordinary project documents or communications.
We don't claim ownership of your confidential information simply because you've provided it to us for a project.
Cookies and website technology
Our website and ecommerce systems may use cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, remember preferences, maintain shopping-cart functionality, prevent fraud, understand site performance, and support features provided by our website and ecommerce platforms.
Some third-party services may collect technical information directly when you interact with their features. Shopify, for example, may process device, browser, IP address, cookie, shopping activity, order, and transaction information when customers interact with Shopify-powered stores. Shopify
Where required, we'll provide controls for optional cookies or other tracking technologies. Shopify provides region-specific customer privacy controls and cookie-consent tools that we'll configure according to the markets where Drift Goods is offered. Shopify Help Center
Browser “Do Not Track” signals aren't interpreted consistently across the web, so our site may not respond to a traditional Do Not Track setting unless a service we use supports it.
How long we keep information
We don't use one arbitrary retention period for everything.
We keep information for as long as we reasonably need it for the purpose it was collected, to maintain appropriate business records, or to meet legal, accounting, tax, contractual, or security requirements.
For example, project and financial records may need to be kept after a project ends, while information submitted through an inquiry that never becomes a project may not need to be retained for as long.
Some information is also stored by the service providers we use and is subject to their retention practices.
Security
We take reasonable steps to protect the information entrusted to us. That includes using reputable service providers, password management, access controls, and security features available through the platforms we use.
No website, storage system, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure, so we can't promise absolute security.
If we become aware of a data breach affecting your personal information, we'll take appropriate action and provide notice when required by law.
Your privacy rights and choices
Privacy rights vary depending on where you live.
Depending on the laws that apply to you, you may have the right to:
ask whether we have personal information about you and receive a copy of it;
correct inaccurate or incomplete information;
request deletion of your information;
object to or restrict certain uses of your information;
withdraw consent where we're relying on your consent;
receive certain information in a portable format; or
opt out of certain forms of data sharing, targeted advertising, or marketing.
You don't need to figure out which privacy law applies before contacting us.
To make a privacy request, email legal@madebydrift.studio.
We may need to verify your identity before completing a request. Some information may also need to be retained when required by law or when we have another legitimate reason to keep it.
We won't discriminate against you for exercising a privacy right that applies to you.
If you're in the EEA, UK, or another jurisdiction with similar privacy laws
Because Drift Goods may be available internationally, privacy laws outside the United States may apply when we offer goods or services to people in those places. Shopify specifically notes that GDPR obligations may apply to merchants outside Europe that make goods or services available to people there. Shopify Help Center
Where those laws apply, we process personal information only when we have an appropriate legal basis. Depending on the situation, that may include:
Contract. We need the information to provide something you've requested—for example, completing and delivering your Drift Goods order or performing client work you've hired us to do.
Consent. You've given us permission—for example, when you voluntarily subscribe to marketing emails where consent is required. You can withdraw that consent.
Legitimate interests. We have a reasonable business need to use information—for example, securing our systems, preventing fraud, responding to ordinary business communications, and operating and improving Drift—provided those interests aren't overridden by your rights.
Legal obligations. We may need to process or retain information to comply with tax, accounting, regulatory, or other legal requirements.
Your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different privacy laws from your own. Where applicable law requires protections for international transfers of personal information, we rely on appropriate safeguards provided by our service providers or otherwise required by law.
Flodesk's current data-processing terms, for example, identify Drift as the controller and Flodesk as a processor and contain provisions addressing data subject rights and international data protection obligations. Flodesk Help Center Shopify likewise provides international data-transfer and GDPR mechanisms for merchants, although Shopify emphasizes that using its tools alone does not make a merchant compliant. You can contact us at legal@madebydrift.studio to exercise applicable privacy rights.
Children
Drift's website and Drift Goods are not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through the website.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in a way that requires parental consent, contact us at legal@madebydrift.studio and we'll address it.
Changes to this policy
If the way we handle personal information materially changes, we'll update this policy. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
We won't quietly rewrite this policy to allow a materially different use of information we've already collected when consent or additional notice is required by law.
